Links, pictures and drawings
[[Links]] between notes
Type [[ (or / › Link to note) and the picker lists Recent notes, narrowing to Notes whose title holds what you type; a name no note has yet is offered as New note. Pick one and its name goes between the brackets; the cursor lands after ]].
Click a link (while reading) and the note with that title opens; if there isn’t one, a new note by that name is made beside the one you were in. Titles are matched loosely.
Pictures and videos
Drop a picture or a video onto the note, paste one, or use / › Picture or video. It goes on a line of its own, at its natural size up to the text’s width and a sensible height (a portrait photo doesn’t fill the screen), and the file is copied into the project’s attachments.
An embed is one thing to the cursor: it steps round it, Backspace after it takes it, typing beside it starts a line above or below. Click to select it (it rings); hover for its buttons; double-click to open. Pictures and drawings taken out of a note are swept from the attachments once nothing can undo them back.
Drawings
/ › Drawing opens a drawing sheet over the notes: a freehand canvas with full-tipped ink, shapes and a palette (the Quickdraw engine). Close it and the drawing goes into the note where the cursor was, as a picture; double-click it later to draw more.
Draw on an iPad: the sheet offers to share the drawing over your Wi-Fi. Open the address it shows on the iPad and draw there with Apple Pencil; strokes arrive live. This is what the app’s local-network permission is for (“Syncretic shares a drawing with your iPad over your Wi-Fi, so you can draw on it with Apple Pencil.”).
Export
Right-click a note or folder in the list › Export › Markdown… or PDF…. Tags are written as the names they show; pictures and drawings go with a Markdown export’s folder and into the PDF.
